Fluidata receive award at Sunday Times Tech Track dinner

Posted: Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

Last night we collected our award for being in this year’s Sunday Times Tech Track which saw us record growth of 48.9% putting us in the 73rd position, only three less than the previous year. The ceremony and dinner were held at Southbank’s Vinopolis which included speeches from Warren East, CEO of ARM and Robin Klein a serial investor.

So the only challenge now is to ensure we are still in the list next year…

Fluidata make Sunday Times Tech Track again

Posted: Monday, September 17th, 2012

Fluidata are delighted to announce that for the second year running we have made it onto the Sunday Times Tech Track. Having recorded 48.9% growth last year, we rank as the 73rd fastest growing private technology company in the UK.

Featuring in the Tech Track was one of the company’s goals when we first started out (back in 2004) so last year felt like a watershed moment for us, though in many was repeating the feet constitutes an even bigger achievement.

Rest assured we’ll be striving for excellence again this year and hoping to make it hat-trick next September!

High Speeds 4G Mobile Network available in the UK from the end of next year

Posted: Monday, July 30th, 2012

4G connectivity will be available to 98% of the UK by the end of 2013, it was revealed earlier this week.

The auction process for the frequencies has been protracted, but it’s now likely to come to a close at the beginning of next year; and the official rollout of the 4G network is expected to be completed by the middle of 2013. Whilst  later than expected,  it is a welcome development. 4G is a big step forward in the evolution of mobile technology, and major markets like the United States, Japan, Germany and Canada have already benefitted from the increased speeds it affords.

The multi million pound investments required to set up the network nationwide should enhance spending within the country, and also ensure that Britain does not fall any further behind in terms of technology improvements. The service should allow smart phone/tablet and mobile workers access HD quality video streaming services without being connected to a local Wi-Fi connection. It will be very interesting to see if the proposed auction of the frequencies will aid in the creation of fair competition amongst carriers – and also how ISP’s will adapt the technology to create products suitable for both business and home users.

Also fascinating to see, will be how the release of this new technology will affect the existing home and business broadband market. As an innovative technology company, Fluidata will be seeing how we can integrate 4G into our award winning Service Exchange Platform ( SEP) in hope of enhancing our product portfolio for both our direct customers and channel partners.

It’s great that this exciting technology is finally on the way, it’s certainly a case of better late than never.

Fluidata Scoops Two Awards in Fluidata’s Most Successful ISPA Awards Ever

Posted: Wednesday, July 4th, 2012

Last night played host to the 14th annual Internet Service Providers Awards (ISPAs) where the most innovative and successful companies flock to recognise excellence and innovation.

Entertained by comedy from the hilarious John Maloney and some thoroughly interesting key note speeches from Tom Scott and Dr Peter Cochrane, Fluidata capped off a wonderful evening amongst our peers by winning two of the awards on offer. For the second year running we were awarded the Best Business Fixed Broadband, while we also scooped the Managed Service Innovation award – an award that recognised our Service Exchange Platform and the continued investment to provide access to Rural and Urban internet suppliers across the country. This was particularly pleasing given the investment we have made in our platform this year-integrating the likes of Digital Region INFL, Talk Talk Business and both BT WBC and IPSC into it.

We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate last’s night other winners including Hyperoptic, KC Business and Plusnet and would like to express our thanks to our dedicated staff and loyal customers.

Fluidata gains Cisco Express Managed Services status

Posted: Monday, December 12th, 2011

We are the proud owners of the Cisco Express Managed Services status following a successful audit of our Cisco capabilities. This status, unique at the moment in the UK, recognises our ability to look after our customers’ needs 24/7 from our own dedicated Network Operations Centre (NOC).

After being a Cisco partner for a number of years we felt the standard channel did not recognise the value add we brought to our customers either at their site or hosted within our network. The Managed Services program however recognises partners that add value by configuring and supporting their customer’s equipment. Also as many of our customers have moved into private wide area networks (PWAN), more and more Cisco hardware is now being located in our datacentres to support their private cloud infrastructures.

It just leaves us now to work towards the next level of qualification!

Fluidata win Deloitte EMEA Fast 500 Award

Posted: Sunday, November 27th, 2011

Last week saw Deloitte’s annual award ceremony for the fastest growing companies in the UK (Fast 50) and Europe (Fast 500). While Fluidata didn’t quite manage to make it into the Fast 50 this year, we did however maintain our position in the Fast 500 within Europe.

The ceremony was held just across the river from our London office at the Tower of London.

Fluidata gets Tech Track 2011

Posted: Monday, September 19th, 2011

Fluidata has been awarded 70th place in the 2011 Sunday Times Tech Track. The league table rates Britains top 100 tech companies in growth over the past 3-years. The award dinner takes place in November but the supplement was out in yesterdays Sunday Times. Included in the list were a number of Fluidata’s customers and suppliers, showing that telecoms is one of the growing sectors in technology today.

With plans of moving the business into other exciting new areas we are expecting to stay in the awards in the coming years.

Investors in People

Posted: Monday, July 11th, 2011

A big part of the story at Fluidata is our people. We strive to deliver excellent customer service by investing not only in technology but also everyone who works at the company. This year we successfully achieved the Bronze Investors in People award.

This was helped by not only adopting professional business practices which you would expect from a much larger company, but also by utilising technology to give us a cutting edge HR platform. With scale up to 2,000 employees the system gives us a little room for growth even with growth in staff numbers of over 100% last year. Next year we will look to turn the Bronze into a Silver award…
