Voice over IP (VoIP) has been revolutionising the global communications of multinationals for many years. Now the technology is becoming widely available to smaller businesses and, with the success of services such as Skype, to consumers. It is reckoned that 7 million of BT’s 11 million business phone lines will be using VoIP technology by 2011.

Fluidata realised early on that for VoIP to be successful with businesses it has to offer ISDN quality, which is why so much effort has been made to ensure the underlying connections suffer from no contention and maximum uptime guarantees.

Is VoIP cheaper than ISDN?
Not initially because a CAPEX investment is required to get the VoIP platform deployed. However OPEX costs are normally lower and VoIP offers new features and functions you will wonder how you coped without them before.
How do you call a PSTN connection?
All VoIP deployments require a PSTN breakout, traditionally ISDN lines, so that standard phones can be called. Fluidata, however provides hosted PSTN termination which lowers the cost of the calls and requires no ISDN on site.
